Planning is important! Especially when it comes to the end of life.
End of life care plans are not easy to create and difficult conversations will need to be held about difficult choices.
I will take as much time as needed to talk with you about your special needs & wants before and also after your death. Your general care plan can be extended to an end of life care plan/advanced care plan which often includes additional areas such as preferred care setting should condition worsen, preferences for symptom management, care after death, decisions about resuscitation, etc. This plan contains much more detailed information and can be very helpful for yourself to get more clear about your situation, but also for carers and family members/loved ones.
But I’m also here to support you if you want to plan any rituals or events (celebration of life, funeral), before or after you are gone. Which music should be played, what smells do you like, do you want to be touched…? Just a few important questions to be asked before it’s too late.
Professional Organizing & Swedish Death Cleaning:
If you feel like you want to downsize before you die and make it easier for your loved ones after you’ve passed I can be a helping hand, too. Over the years I downsized my own belongings to a minimum and helped others do the same. We’ll declutter, explore systems of sustainable organisation and consider your current needs. This so called “Swedish Death Cleaning” (brainchild of Swedish author Margareta Magnussen, who coined the term in her 2017 book ‘The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: How to Free Yourself and Your Family from a Lifetime of Clutter’) can be very freeing for your mind and helps in the process of letting-go.
During this process we may collaborate on a legacy project (memory book, music curation etc.) or find treasures to give to your loved ones. Things can be also donated to charity shops, sold on Ebay or just honoured by looking at them and maybe thinking about the related story behind your earthly belongings.
